Final Plenary of the European Cyber Situational Awareness Platform (ECYSAP)


  • On February 20, 2025, the final ECYSAP Plenary took place in Madrid at Indra’s facilities in Alcobendas, following the demonstrator held on February 19. The session focused on reviewing the exploitation plan, assessing future impact, analyzing lessons learned with input from the EDA and Member States, and evaluating project compliance with key requirements. The final Impact Report was also presented. This milestone not only marks the conclusion of ECYSAP but also paves the way for future advancements in European cyber defense.

ECYSAP – Spanish Demonstrator


  • On February 19, 2025, the final ECYSAP Demonstrator took place in Spain, marking the successful conclusion of the project and unveiling its final results. High-ranking representatives from Spanish MCCE, the Italian Ministry of Defence, CIDCC, EUMS, MPCC, and ACT attended the event, set in a fictional scenario at Rota Naval Base and the country of Barataria. The demonstration highlighted ECYSAP’s advanced capabilities, including interoperability with C2 systems, mission nesting, risk assessment, and multi-level operational views. Funded by the European Commission under the EDIDP and coordinated by the EDA, ECYSAP stands as a key innovation in European cyber defense.

ECYSAP French Demonstrator: Applying Cyber Defence to Multi Domain Mission


  • On November 13th, 2024, Airbus Defence and Space Cyber hosted a demonstration of the ECYSAP solution for key European defense entities, including the European Defence Agency and multiple national defense ministries. After four years of development within the ECYSAP consortium, the prototype was presented to both technical and operational teams, who assessed its alignment with evolving cyber defense needs. The event featured a new scenario, supported by the French MoD, integrating kinetic operations and cyber situational awareness. ECYSAP successfully displayed the Recognized Cyber Picture (RCyP), assessed cyber attack impacts, and proposed actionable responses, earning positive feedback. The next step is industrializing the solution for operational deployment.

ECYSAP Plenary Meeting


  • At the recent ECYSAP Plenary Meeting, key advancements were made in mission modeling, enabling independent multilevel analysis and cross-level propagation. Indra will lead the coordination to finalize liaisons and the project roadmap, reinforcing ECYSAP’s role in strengthening Europe’s Cyber Situational Awareness for defense. Discussions focused on refining mission tracking, analysis, and risk management capabilities, with planned improvements set for swift implementation. Additionally, preparations are underway for the #MILEX24 planning phase, where ECYSAP will showcase its progress and commitment to NATO interoperability.

ECYSAP Italian Demonstrator: A Showcase of Cyber Defense Capabilities 


  • On September 18th, the ECYSAP Italian demonstrator took place in Rome, showcasing its advanced cyber defense capabilities to Defence Ministers and key stakeholders. Through realistic simulations, ECYSAP demonstrated its ability to assess and counter cyber threats, ensuring mission-critical decision-making for EU forces. The exercise highlighted how the platform swiftly identifies vulnerabilities, restores communications, and secures critical infrastructure under cyberattacks. This event underscored ECYSAP’s role in enhancing cybersecurity resilience in military operations, proving its effectiveness in real-time, high-pressure environments.

Le Triomphe de Saint Cyr Coëtquidan


  • As part of the ECySAP project, Airbus Defence and Space Cyber participated in Le Triomphe de Saint Cyr Coëtquidan on July 20th. Le Triomphe celebrates the end of scholarship for French Army officers and welcomes new students. During the Innovation forum, Airbus presented solutions like CyberRange and ECYSAP to military staff and their families. Their participation demonstrated their capacity to address cyberspace, the fifth domain of warfare. The CyberRange is already in use for military operations and training. The ECYSAP solution is being developed with Indra, Leonardo, and Cybernetica, aiming for TRL7 readiness, in collaboration with the European Defence Administration and four Ministries of Defence.

ECYSAP Estonian Demostrator


  • Our colleagues showcased the ECYSAP system's functionality during the MILEX exercise on October 17 and 18, 2023. Within the exercise's framework, they demonstrated the capabilities developed under the project, co-funded by the European Commission. This event further solidified the consortium's collaborative efforts and strengthened their collective capacities in advancing the project.

ECYSAP demonstration CWIX'24


  • From 19th to 22th of June, 2024, led by Indra with the collaboration of Airbus Defence and Space, the ECYSAP project was presented at NATO's CWIX 2024 exercise, held in June. Our primary objective was to enhance Cyber Situational Awareness and Recognized Cyber Picture capabilities. During the exercise, we successfully demonstrated our ability to receive alerts and incidents from SOCs, obtain information from C2 systems, send CTI information to SOCs, and provide mission impact assessments to C2 systems. This achievement highlights the interoperability and effectiveness of our system.

ECYSAP Project Plenary Meeting


  • The ECYSAP project recently concluded its plenary meeting (from April 16-18) aimed at enhancing situational awareness in cyber defense. Participants from French, Italian, and Spanish Ministries of Defense, the European Defence Agency, and Consortium members Airbus, Cy4Gate, Cybernetica, Indra, and Leonardo convened to review progress, plan strategic initiatives, and schedule upcoming workshops and events. "The meeting was highly productive, setting a clear pathway for our future efforts," noted Alejandro Campos, a project assistant. Key highlights included progress reviews, agreements on strategic initiatives, and plans for workshops and events. The project aims to equip military operations with robust situational awareness tools to defend against cyber threats.

  • The ECYSAP project made a significant impact at MILEX'24, held from April 15-18, 2024. Our team, led by Pedro Ramón y Cajal Ramo, proudly demonstrated the latest advancements in defense technology and situational awareness, contributing to a robust discussion on the future of European military capabilities. ECYSAP's participation not only highlights our commitment to strengthening EU defense strategies but also reinforces our ties with key military stakeholders across Europe.

Workshop ECYSAP, FEINDEF 2023


  • Indra has organized the First ECYSAP workshop with Stakeholders at the Intenational Defence and Security Fair (FEINDEF 2023), bringing together leading experts and representatives of the most cutting-edge European cyber defence projects and entities in order to showcase the latest developments. EDF, EDIDP, PESCO and EU-funded projects shared the visions on R&D raised by NATO and EDA.

  • Leonardo hosted the second face to face plenary meeting in Genoa, Italy, from 8 to 10 March 2023 with the participation of all consortium members. Partners met to discuss project status, objectives, and next steps. Once again, the meeting represented a great opportunity for close collaboration that came to an end with valuable knowledge shared.

  • The rise in cyber threats and the potential significant impact of a cyber-attack have highlighted the importance of providing military end-users with defensive and decision-making capabilities. Ambitious CSA project (ECYSAP) enters next phase. The European Defence Agency has recently signed a new implementing contract with the industrial consortium, led by Indra. To increase European CSA, EDA is supporting four EU States as the project manager of the ECYSAP project. The contract is an important step forward for the project, as it implements contributing Member States’ co-financing of the ECYSAP action launched under the EDIDP.

ECYSAP Third Plenary Meeting took place in Madrid, October 2022.


  • Indra has coordinated the organization of the first face to face plenary meeting in Madrid, arranged across three working days, from 5 to 7 October 2022. The event represented an excellent opportunity to strengthen bonds among the consortium members and the representatives of the MoDs and European Commission, all gathered for the first time since the beginning of the project since COVID-19 pandemic restrictions made it impossible until that time. The event was attended by all the members of the consortium. At the meeting, partners discussed the progress of the different tasks and the expected scope while the first outputs of the anakyses carried out on the European defence responses were presented.
