The ECYSAP Enhanced Cyberspace Operations (ECYSAP EYE) project, with EDF-2023-DA-CYBER-CSA project code, represents the natural evolution of the previous ECYSAP initiative (Project Code: EDIDP-CSAMN-SSC-2019-022-ECYSAP), building on its foundational achievements in Cyber Situational Awareness.
ECYSAP EYE offers advanced decision support capabilities designed to detect, analyze, and anticipate cyber scenarios in complex digital environments. This next-generation system significantly improves operational readiness, ensuring greater resilience and interoperability, and strengthening European technological sovereignty.
ECYSAP EYE integrates artificial intelligence, advanced simulation, and big data analytics to orchestrate a unified view of cyberspace across its three fundamental layers: electromagnetic/physical, logical/virtual, and cognitive/social. This holistic approach enables risk assessment, strategic opportunity discovery, and the development of effective responses in highly dynamic mission environments.
Creation of a Recognised Cyberspace Picture (RCyP), combining data from multiple sources to provide a real-time operational view.
Evaluation of hypothetical scenarios using mission modelling and digital engineering trials to anticipate threats and opportunities.
Identification of courses of action for military missions in or through cyberspace, including both proactive and reactive recommendations.
Integration with national and European defence systems, ensuring compatibility with FMN/NISP standards and facilitating multinational cooperation.
ECYSAP EYE is a key pillar in the evolution of EU cyber defence capabilities, aligned with the Capability Development Plan (CDP) of the European Defence Agency (EDA) and the strategic objectives of the Coordinated Annual Review on Defence (CARD). Its implementation will enable greater operational autonomy for member states and a more effective response to emerging cyber threats.
